I've been wanting to make an All-Purpose Cleaner for a while now. I wasn't sure the ratios between water and soap. I played around a little and found a recipe that works! After figuring out a recipe, I then realized on the Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap bottle, there's already a recipe for an All-Purpose Cleaner! What the heck. Anyways, here is my little twist and tips on the All-Purpose Cleaner using Dr. Bronner's....
You will need:
Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap (Approx. 2 tbsp.)
2 cups Distilled Water
Spray Bottle
I took 2 cups of the distilled water and combined it with approx. 2 tbsp Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap (I used Peppermint) in a spray bottle.
Voila! Easy as that.
Save Money: Not only will this cleaner make your home clean & toxin free, but it will also save you money.
All you really need to purchase is the soap.
Distilled water can be purchased, or you can boil and cool water, making it sterile and acceptable to use in this recipe.
A spray bottle is reusable, but if you don't already have one, it's a one time purchase
Let me break down the savings for you:
Dr. Bronner's soap~ I found for $16.19 on SwansonVitamins.com (tax not included)
Distilled water (optional)~ I found 1 Gallon at Wal-Mart for $0.88
64 Tablespoons of soap in Dr. Bronner's 32 oz. soap = 32 bottles of cleaner
1 Gallon of Water = 8 bottles of cleaner
8*4=32
4*$0.88 per bottle= $3.52
$16.19+$3.52=$19.71
32 bottles of cleaner for $19.71 if you're purchasing distilled water.
You can make 32 bottles of your own All-Purpose cleaner for $0.62 per bottle!
Compare that to the cleaner you currently purchase, plus it's toxin-free.
Using Essential Oils to Kill Germs & Bacteria...
If you use an unscented castile soap, I would recommend adding 10 drops of essential oil.
Here's a guide I came across to help when picking out an essential oil that kills bacteria and germs!
