My Tea Guide!

When it comes to my tea, I am very picky! I want affordable, organic tea, with no additives!
Wait...that doesn't sound too picky, does it? Well, you would be surprised how difficult it was to find tea brands that I am willing to support and consume!

Some of the most popular tea brands may contain GMO's, harmful flavoring and additives, harmful packaging, high levels of pesticides, and more.

Here's the good news: I've saved you the trouble! After tons and tons of research on how tea is grown, the packaging process, hearing from the media and CEO's, I only trust 3 tea brands.

Here they are:

1. Rishi: Rishi offers loose leaf, tea bags, and tea ware.
Rishi offers a really unique tea bag, below is a picture from the Rishi website:

Rishi also offers organic and fair trade certified products.
I love Rishi tea, because they have matcha green tea! Their matcha green tea comes in a big pack or individual to-go packs!

Besides the matcha, here are my favorite Rishi teas:

  • Tropical Green tea
  • Peach Nectar, White tea
  • Turmeric-Ginger, Caffeine-free

2. Numi Organic Tea: Numi offers a wide range of tea including: loose leaf, tea bags, flowering tea, and iced tea. They also sell beautiful glass teapots!

They have lots of choices within their tea bag category. The categories include: Turmeric, Pu-erh, Indulgent, Savory, Green, Black, White, & Herbal.

"WHY IS ORGANIC TEA IMPORTANT As with all intensively farmed crops, conventional tea is routinely treated with a broad range of agricultural chemicals that are potentially harmful to farmers, farm workers and the environment. As opposed to most produce that is washed prior to consumption, most teas are oxidized (air-dried) without first being washed. This means that chemicals can steep directly into your cup." From the Numi website.

Numi is also fair trade certified. (They offer non-GMO project certified products, as well.)

"Numi Organic Tea’s award-winning sustainable packaging uses the most innovative materials available to minimize impact on the environment. We use recyclable, cardboard outer packaging made of 85% post-consumer waste and printed with soy-based inks. We do not use plastic shrink wrap, and we use natural, biodegradable filter-paper tea bags rather than nylon or GMO-origin tea sachets. Most elements of our packaging can be recycled or composted!" From the Numi website.

Some of my favorite tea from Numi is:

  • Loose leaf, White tea, Orange Spice
  • Green Rooibos
  • Jasmine Green

3. Traditional Medicinals: This brand has so many tea bag options, it's overwhelming! Detox, laxative, herbal, digestive, women's, kids, relaxation, seasonal, green, and single serve.
Every need, there's a tea for it. Unlike Yogi's brand, these tea's are mostly organic, fair trade certified, and/or non-GMO. I have a lot of favorite tea's from this brand. I find this brand to suit my every need, and at an affordable price per box! I catch them on sale a lot at my local supermarket.

Favorites:

  • Cup of Calm
  • Cold Care PM
  • Echinacea Plus
  • Burdock with Nettle Leaf
  • Chamomile with Lavender
  • Dandelion Leaf & Root
  • Ginger Aid
  • Green Tea Hibiscus
  • Nighty Night Valerian
  • Everyday Detox Lemon
  • Back on Tract
  • PMS Tea

Enjoy your cup of tea!
