Sneaky Way to Make Mac & Cheese a Little Healthier

Let's be practical: Kid's can be picky and sometimes we like to indulge a little, too. Mac & Cheese is convenient and a guilty pleasure! When we don't feel like cooking, we cook a box of Mac & Cheese. Although I don't advise you to go out and buy Mac & Cheese, if it's something you have in your house as well, I have a sneaky tip to make it a little healthier.

First of all, I do not purchase just any brand; I always buy organic Mac & Cheese.

Some organic brands of Mac & Cheese that I enjoy include:

Annie's

Also Gluten-Free:

Ancient Harvest's Quinoa

Also Dairy Free, Gluten Free:

Road's End Organic

Now the "sneaky" part to making your organic Mac & Cheese a little healthier...Bone Broth!

If you haven't heard of it yet, Bone Broth is an amazing broth rich in protein and minerals. The bones are cooked for a very long time compared to regular chicken broth or stock, making it contain more nutrients.

Bone Broth Contains: Collagens, Glucosamine, and Gelatin.
Due to these 3 nutrients, Bone Broth benefits are as follows: Heals gut, aids IBS, protects joints, immune support, helps you sleep, makes you look younger, gives you energy, detoxes, and more!

When making Mac & Cheese, instead of milk or butter, I mix the pasta, cheese powder, and Bone Broth! Nobody can ever tell!

There are so many recipes out there to make your very own Bone Broth, and there are many uses as well. Bone Broth can be used in the place of Chicken broth/stock in your soups and recipes. Because the Bone Broth takes a long time to cook, I usually purchase it in my local supermarket. Specifically Pacific brand puts out a great, organic Bone Broth.

You can purchase Turkey Bone Broth, Chicken Bone Broth, there are even options of Turkey with Rosemary, Sage, & Thyme. I love Pacific's Bone Broth's!

Next time you or your children want Mac & Cheese, just add a little Bone Broth to it, and you will get some extra protein and nutrients in there!

Enjoy!
